Setting Up Equipment & Sample Quiz

Setting Up Equipment

Bars that are currently running the quiz are using the following equipment.
1x laptop computer with S-Video Out capabilities
1x S-Video adapter (this will convert your four pin cable into a single RCA cable.)
1x AV Sender and Transmitter this sends a 2.4GHz signal from your computer to the TV (you can display the quiz on more than one TV by using multiple AV senders).

Computer must also have Microsoft PowerPoint viewer.

Obviously you need a TV to display the quiz on. A microphone and some sort of PA system so your players can hear you. (Wireless gives you the opportunity to move around and have fun with the teams)

A large Blackboard or White Board to write the team names an scores on.

That is about all the equipment we are currently using. You can also use a wireless mouse or professional remote device which allows you to walk around while asking questions. This is a great way to interact with the teams.

As each venue will have different types of TV’s and equipment the set up for each will vary. If you are having any difficulty in setting up your connection to your TV screens please contact us for assistance.

You can set up your computer anywhere. Make sure you can see the TV screen/s & your players. The signal is wireless but does not like microwaves or lots of movement, so try and put them up as high as possible for the best results. Remember the chef will have to heat the pies in the oven tonight as the microwave will affect the signal.

Step One
Look at the back of your computer and locate the yellow S-Video socket and plug in your adapter. Turn power on your computer.

Step Two
Plug one end of your RCA cables into the adapter and the other end into the AV TRANSMITTER and turn power on (Select channel 1)

On your Computer go to TV mode (this is in the display properties of your computer, check your user manual for further assistance) you should now be able to see your computer on your TV screen/s. If you can connect the AV RECIEVER to your in house AV system you will be able to display the quiz on ALL your TV’s.
